Foundations to Flourish

Welcome to admissions
Thank you for considering Ipswich High School, where we are dedicated to providing pupils with the foundation to flourish for lifelong learning.
Our Admissions team would be delighted to guide you through the application process, whether you are interested in joining our Nursery or Prep School or as a boarder or day pupil in our Senior School or Sixth Form.
While most pupils start with us in September, we can, depending on the availability of places, admit your child at different times of the year. A typical admissions journey tends to start with a private tour conducted by a senior member of staff or the admissions team, followed by an enjoyable taster day for your child. Depending on the year group they are joining, pupils will also undertake an entrance examination. Scholarships are also available for pupils applying to the school.

“We very much look forward to welcoming you to the school, where you can see for yourself how we provide an exceptional educational experience that builds the foundations to flourish.”

Woolverstone Scholarships
Our Woolverstone Scholarship Programme is for our scholars from Years 7-13, with scholarships being awarded in Year 7, Year 9 and Year 12.
This programme aims to ensure that our scholars continue to develop their considerable talents by providing them with additional support from staff across the Senior School. Academic Scholars are supported to complete independent scholar projects, whilst Sports Scholars, Music Scholars, Art Scholars, Dance Scholars and Drama Scholars will enjoy scholarship programmes designed by the relevant Head of Department. These scholars are also able to access academic scholar projects should they wish to do so.
School Fees
Our school fees include tuition, lunches, and a huge range of Enrichment Activities. Support for those pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or disabilities is also included, where appropriate. Please note that public examination fees and coach travel to school are not included in the fees.
To start our application process, a non-refundable registration fee of ยฃ100 applies to all prospective pupils. Upon acceptance, Day Pupils are required to submit a ยฃ500 acceptance deposit. Boarders are also subject to our deposit requirements.
Wraparound Care
Wraparound care at Ipswich High School enables our pupils to have a safe and relaxing environment before and after the school day, whilst providing our parents with a stress-free and seamless childcare solution.
There is a small charge for both the Breakfast Club and After School Club. There is no need to book for wraparound care, just ensure the Prep or Senior School Reception is aware your child will be attending on the day.
Award-winning boutique boarding
Our exceptional boutique boarding offers a home-away-from-home experience. We consider our award-winning boarding as โboutiqueโ as our boarding houses are small with exceptional, high-quality facilities from the stunning setting to the beautifully designed interiors. Home for our boarders is The Dairy House and The Barns, our award-winning boarding houses, located within the schoolโs stunning campus. Just a short walk from the main school, our boarding houses sit in a safe and idyllic setting, looking out over the beautiful Suffolk countryside and private woodland.
